DENVER (KDVR) — Not all heroes wear capes, and one Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy is certainly proof of that as he helped out a man dressed up as the Marvel Comics superhero Captain America when he was most in need. The man's motorcycle had broken down on Colorado State Highway 470 on his way to an appearance at an annual holiday parade at Children's Hospital Colorado South Campus in Highland's Ranch. Douglas County Search and Rescue utilize drone to save 10-year-old stranded boy "All right, here's the deal," Deputy Zach Zepeski is heard saying to the superhero, who was on the side of the road. "I can't in good conscience leave a nice motorcycle and, given that you're going to a children's hospital and doing all that, I got a tow truck coming." This tow truck was personally paid for by Zepeski, the sheriff's office said. "It's Christmastime," he said when the fellow hero, who is better known as the Colorado Captain, began to protest the deputy's kind gesture. Zepeski also said that another reason he was doing it was because if the Harley Davidson bike got stolen, he'd "never forgive" himself. His bike was taken to a safe place and he was able to go on to make an appearance at the Children's Hospital event alongside fellow heroes like Batman and members of Douglas County Search and Rescue. "I'm so grateful," he said to Zepeski. "I mean this, from the bottom of my heart." According to his website, the Colorado Captain regularly attends charity events in Denver and across the country as the Star-Spangled Man.
