MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man carjacked a woman last month in Southeast Shelby County after tricking her into thinking he was going to sell her a car that was listed on a Facebook ad, Memphis Police say.
On November 2, Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies say they were called to a home in the 6000 block of Saddleback Circle regarding a carjacking just before noon.
The victim stated she was meeting with an unknown man that her boyfriend had been in contact with about a car the unknown man listed for sale in a Facebook ad.

She says when she arrived at the address the unknown seller gave her, the man approached the passenger side of her car and said she had to take him to the for sale car because it was at another location.
As the victim was driving, the man allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and told her, "You know what time it is" and "I'll kill you."
That is when the victim and the suspect began fighting in the car, deputies say, but the man was ultimately able to push the victim out of the car on the driver's side. The vehicle was still in gear during the fight, causing it to hit a parked car.
The victim suffered minor injuries on her leg and hands.
Deputies say the suspect took control of the car and left the scene.

According to reports, the victim was renting the car from someone who was able to disable it while it was stopped at a BP gas station in Hickory Hill.
When deputies got the vehicle, they said they processed it for latent prints, reviewed video footage from the gas station, and put out a Be On The Look Out for the suspect.
On November 4, CrimeStoppers received a tip identifying the suspect as forty-six-year-old Kent Hughes.
