KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A 16-year-old boy has now been charged with murder following the death of a teenager last week in Miami County, Kansas. The District Court of Miami County on Wednesday charged the 16-year-old with first-degree murder. The Miami County Sheriff's Office shared news of the updated charge on Thursday. Man accused of killing Wyandotte County deputies changes plea Last week the teen was charged with one count of interfering with law enforcement officers and concealing/destroying evidence after a 15-year-old boy was found dead at a Spring Hill home, near West 231st Street and Lewis Drive, according to court records. Original reports of the case said that at about 2:58 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, deputies with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office were called to the Spring Hill home in response to an unresponsive person. After deputies arrived, they found the 15-year-old boy dead inside the home. At the same time, the 16-year-old boy was taken to a hospital and then later taken into custody at a juvenile detention facility.
