Four arrested, multiple guns recovered after barricade incident in DC, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- D.C. police said four people were taken into custody following a barricade in Southeast D.C. incident early Thursday morning.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that just after 1 a.m. on Dec. 12, officers were called to a home in the 1100 block of First Street to investigate a burglary.
When police arrived, they determined that multiple people, armed with guns, were inside the home and a barricade situation was declared.

As the incident unfolded, MPD blocked First Street between M and K Streets.
Eventually, four people were arrested and officers discovered several guns inside the home, according to police.
As of 10:30 a.m., all roads surrounding the home reopened, but police units were still on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
