Gophers football adds commitment from Purdue tight end
Dec 12, 2024
The Gophers football program picked up its second transfer commitment with Purdue tight end Drew Biber on Thursday.
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Cedarburg, Wis., native played parts of four seasons for the Boilermakers and the graduate transfer has one season of eligibility remaining.
“Same book, new chapter!” Biber wrote on Instagram.
Biber joins Georgia Tech quarterback Zach Pyron, who committed to the U on Wednesday. Minnesota plans to bring in a total of 10-15 new players via the NCAA transfer portal before next year.
Last season, Biber played 216 snaps on offense and 180 on special teams and was given a subpar 51.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. He has 15 grabs for 135 yards and one touchdown in his college career, including 13 receptions for 113 yards last season.
The Gophers are losing senior tight end Nick Kallerup, but will return Jameson Geers, Frank Bierman, Pierce Walsh, Nathan Jones and others at the position.
