Bakersfield Sound documentary to be shown at Beale Memorial Library

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- When the Bakersfield Country Music Museum held its grand opening in May 1988, local singer Inez Savage caught it all on film.
That historic occasion – more than 35 years ago – has been made into a documentary of sorts.

The one hour, home movie will hit the big screen at Beale Library at 1 p.m., Dec. 14.
The film features musicians including Buck Owens, Billy Mize, Oscar Whittington, Gene Moles, Susan Raye Wiggins, Theresa Spanke, Bobby Durham, Mayf Nutter and others.
The screening will also feature live performances by Ernie Lewis, Norm Hamlet and Zack Arnold.
The event is free and open to the public.
