Storm causes hundreds of power outages, street flooding

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A powerful, storm brought strong winds to Southern New England yesterday.
ABC6’s meteorologists tallied a total of 2 to 4.65 inches of rain in some areas across the region, with some areas seeing gusts of 6o mph winds.
As of 6 a.m., Rhode Island Energy was reporting 482 outages across the state of Rhode Island.
National Grid was reporting 50 plus outages throughout the Fall River area, all the way east to Cohasset.
Some schools in the area were reported closed or delayed Thursday morning as the wind lingered.
