Water main breaks in Rockville during nearfreezing temperatures

ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) -- A water main broke in the City of Rockville on Friday night as temperatures crept toward freezing.
Just before 8:45 p.m., the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) said in a post on X that the break happened in the area of Fortune Terrace. There was reportedly heavy runoff on 7 Locks Road.

With the break happening just one degree above freezing, RCPD said to use caution in the area as temperatures continue to dip.
Residents might be out of water for a period of time while repairs take place.
