MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A three-legged rescue dog that had been on the run for nearly two weeks was found safe early Friday morning, close to the same place where she ran off. Bailey, a one-year-old lab mix, had her injured right front leg amputated early this month and got loose during a follow-up visit to Bluff City Veterinarian Specialists on Forest Hill Irene Road. Quick said an experienced dog trapper and volunteers had been looking for her nonstop and were hoping she would return to the area. "Thanks to Cyndy, Michelle, and Karen for setting and baiting the traps," Quick said. "Also, many thanks for all the prayers and help everyone else has given us in trying to catch her." Bailey was found underneath a house in Mississippi with a broken and infected leg. Rescuers believe the dog was hit by a car or a heavy instrument. Charlie's Crusaders is now looking for a foster or forever home for Bailey.
