Nearly 600 FFA members from across South Dakota will compete for the title of state champion in the 11 State FFA Leadership Development Events (LDEs) December 1-2, 2024, at the Box Elder Event Center. Ag Broadcasting, Ag Communications, Ag Issues, Ag Sales, Chapter Conduct of Meetings, Creed Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Employment Skills, Marketing Plan, Public Speaking, and Parliamentary Procedure events provide learning opportunities that shape innovative leaders and employees for the ag industry, so they can feed and clothe our world. FFA members qualified in 11 competitive events through district competitions, advancing the top two teams and top three individuals from each of the eight FFA districts. In addition to competitive events, members have the opportunity to interact with agriculture industry leaders and postsecondary schools at the Career Expo: Agtegra Cooperative, Bank West, Farm Credit Services of America, Titan Machinery, Butler Machinery, RDO Equipment, Fastenal, Cattle Business Weekly, USDA Farm Service Agency, Western Legacy Foundation, Western Dakota Technical College, Army ROTC, Black Hills Special Services, The Indian University of North America/ Crazy Horse Memorial, Sheridan College. Champions will be announced at a closing award ceremony, Monday at 11:30am MST.
