DENMARK, Wis. (WFRV) - A 27-year-old man was hit by two different vehicles while trying to cross I-43 in Brown County, authorities say he was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to I-43 southbound near STH 96 in Denmark around 10:20 p.m. on November 28 after reports that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old woman from Port Washington was heading south on I-43 when she reportedly hit a 27-year-old man who was trying to cross the southbound lanes. Wisconsin man arrested for eighth OWI after crash with semi-truck After the initial collision, deputies say the 27-year-old was also hit in the southbound lanes by a different vehicle, reportedly being driven by a 50-year-old man from Illinois. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The release noted that both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
