Nov 29, 2024
Are you wondering where the best neighborhoods are for holiday light-gazing? Would you love to see the lights from the comfort and warmth of your car, or do you prefer a stroll in the brisk chilly December air to get into the spirit of the holidays? Whichever activity suits you and your loved ones best, Howard County has launched the 2024 “HoCo Holiday Lights” map to make it easier to find and admire light displays exuding the spirit of the season in Howard County. The website is publicly driven, so residents and business owners can register their homes or businesses on the site to help people find the path of glowing holiday lights. Throughout the season, each listing will track an address, photos, description of the display, display dates and hours, and any special instructions for that location.Visitors can create a personalized map of holiday lights they’d like to see throughout Howard County, or they can search for displays by city, zip code, or key words. They should check back often, as information will change when new neighbors and businesses add their displays to the database.“One special way we feel the joy and togetherness of the holidays is walking or driving around our neighborhoods to enjoy the festive holiday lights with those who mean the most to us,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “This interactive map, in its fourth year, lets residents and visitors know the locations that are lit up in celebration. Whether you plan a family outing with a route around Howard County to tour the bright lights or sign up to share your own decorations, I hope you enjoy making quality memories with your family during the holidays.”Homeowners, businesses, or community organizations wishing to share their displays are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
