MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man has been arrested after a K-9 officer located illegal narcotics in his vehicle and officers found him in possession of a concealed firearm he was not supposed to have, the Madera Police Department said on Thursday. Officers say they conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. B Street and E. 4th Street. They contacted the driver, identified as Domingo Scalise, and found he was in possession of a concealed firearm. Police say they learned Scalise was not the registered owner and he was not a concealed weapons permit holder. They add the man's felony convictions actually prohibit him from owning a firearm. A K-9 Officer was called to assist with the investigation. Investigators say the K-9, Ulf, located illegal narcotics in the suspect vehicle's trunk. Scalise was ultimately arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail under suspicion of weapons and narcotics charges.
