Williams County, N.D. (KXNET)- It's been nearly 11 months since a North Dakota family has seen or heard from 62-year-old Roger Shelton and it's the first Thanksgiving they are spending without him.Investigators are still searching for Shelton.
Shelton was last seen on January 5th at the Black-Gold Casino on the Montana-North Dakota border.Investigators say he was heading home that night in Williams County and has not been seen since. All of Shelton's personal belongings were found inside his house, including his dentures, phone, car keys, and wallet with bank cards and cash still inside.Investigators say there was even a hot pot of coffee brewed and the clothes he was wearing the day of his disappearance, in the dryer. They also say there was no sign of forced entry and nothing was stolen.Search parties have looked for Shelton from Williston, all the way to Minnesota, and searched the area with cadaver dogs, but say they didn't find anything.Right now, investigators are waiting for leads from neighbors and any witnesses to gather more information about what happened to Roger.
"We still want people, if they know anything, if they remember anything, if they heard anything at the grocery store or the bar, or wherever they might have heard some information, even if they think that it's something we either already know or that they think is not a big deal, let us know because it might be a big deal or it might be something we don't know," Williams County Sheriff's office detective Daniel Ward said. "It's hard to just disappear in this day and age especially and that's what's happened right now with Mr. Roger. I can't imagine how frustrating it is for the family, also, that they don't have the answers that I think that they would deserve and want."
Shelton has brown/grey hair, and brown eyes. He's five-foot-five inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has a tattoo on his upper left arm of an outline of the pink panther with the word "roach" written underneath. He frequents the Montana/North Dakota border casinos and lives near the intersection of Highway 2 and 146th Avenue Northwest on the west side of Williston.
