AUSTIN (KXAN) -- We hope you had a happy Thanksgiving! Temperatures on turkey day were much cooler than Wednesday, with Camp Mabry only reaching 60°, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport climbing to 62°. Winds were gusty at times, with an occasional gust up to 30 mph. Sunset Thursday night was at 5:30 p.m.
Overnight Thursday, clouds will begin to clear out, which will allow temperatures to quickly drop to near freezing for many in Central Texas. A Freeze Warning has been issued for San Saba and Mason County until 9AM Friday morning.
The Freeze Warning is issued from late Thursday night until Friday morning
Out the door, temperatures will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. Make sure to wear extra layers during the morning hours.
Near-freezing low temperatures in Central Texas
Winds will blow out of the NE at 5 to 10 mph, so wind chill values will be near or below freezing before 9AM.
High temperatures will be similar to Thanksgiving, in the upper 50s to low 60s.
High temperatures on Friday- cooler than normal
Temperatures will return to seasonable highs in the mid to upper 60s over the weekend with partly cloudy skies.
When will the rain return?

We need the rain, as portions of Travis and Hays County are currently in an extreme drought.
