(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Two minors were arrested and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said both had previous charges of aggravated robbery.
According to CSPD on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at around 3:40 a.m. officers were called to a burglary in progress in the 2900 block of North Academy Boulevard north of Maizeland Road.
When officers arrived they learned that a stolen Hyundai was intentionally driven into the front of the store. After crashing through the store, what appeared to be two minor offenders entered the store and stole vape products. The two suspects left the store and got into a second allegedly stolen vehicle identified as a Kia Soul.
Detectives arrived to assist in the investigation and later in the day detectives found a stolen Kia Soul matching the description and two minors were detained.
One of the minors arrested is facing charges of aggravated robbery and according to CSPD had been arrested and released earlier this year for aggravated robbery.
The other minor was contacted in the stolen vehicle and released pending further investigation by police. CSPD said that the minor had been arrested and released at least four times in 2024 for charges including aggravated robbery and motor vehicle theft.
