BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — The City of Bismarck will be testing its Outdoor Warning Siren System on the morning of Friday, November 29. According to the City of Bismarck's Facebook page, the sirens are used to alert citizens to current or potential emergencies, and can be sounded for any dangerous event. They are typically tested on the last Friday of every month at 9:30 a.m., although tests may be cancelled in some situations depending on weather conditions. Be prepared for Black Friday PayPal scams There are 23 sirens within Bismarck, and four in close proximity (including two in the city of Lincoln) that are all activated as a single system. The sirens are meant to only be heard outside, but proximity and other factors mean that some people may hear them indoors. As such, it's important to have other methods to receive alerts — such as access to NOAA Weather Radio or Interactive National Weather Service Mobile Alerts.
