MINOT, N.D. (KXNET) — People braved the cold temperatures this morning for the 10th annual Magic City Turkey Trot. The event is hosted by the Magic City Figure Skating Club to raise funds for the club's Synchro teams. Trotters began this morning around 9:00 a.m. in Downtown Minot. There was a one-mile fun run, a walk, and 5k run. Barb Kohlman, the skating club's program director, says the trot is a great way for people to get into the Thanksgiving spirit before spending the day with their families. What fast food restaurants will be open for Thanksgiving 2024? "People dress up in Thanksgiving costumes," she states. "There are turkeys, and there are mashed potatoes. It's also just a great way to get out and exercise before you spend the day with your family." This year's event reportedly had 500 participants more than in any previous year.
