BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A teenage boy who was 15 when he fatally shot a man in Oildale last year has admitted to all counts against him -- including murder, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Benjermin Vasquez made the admission earlier this year in juvenile court and was sentenced to confinement at the APEX Academy, which houses youth ages 14 to 25, prosecutors said.
Because he was convicted as a minor, Vasquez will be released no later than his 25th birthday.
Vasquez was charged in the June 25, 2023, shooting of Luis Adrian Navarro Ibarra on China Grade Loop. Ibarra, 20, died at the scene.
