Warming up for the weekend
Nov 23, 2024
What We’re Tracking
Nice weekend ahead
Cold front arrives late Sunday
Chilly heading into Thanksgiving weekend
Another cold start this morning with temperatures in the 30s and even a few spots dipping into the upper 20s. Cloud continuing to move through to start out before we clear out later on today. You will definitely want the coat if you are heading out early this morning, though!
We'll see a warm up just in time for the weekend. Winds will remain from the south and southeast at 10-15 mph, helping to bring in a bit of warmer air. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 50s and low 60s today. By Sunday, some middle 60s look to return with plenty of sunshine. This all before yet another cold front moves in heading into Monday.
It's possible a stray shower or two moves through Monday although most stay dry. It's also possible that they will be in the form of a few snowflakes although won't amount to anything. The colder air will force our temperatures into the low 40s for highs and we'll struggle in those 40s through much of next week.
Our next storm system is expected to arrive just before Thanksgiving, bringing a blast of even colder air for the holiday. Precipitation is likely to return by Wednesday, primarily in the form of rain showers. However, it's still too early to rule out the possibility of a few snowflakes on Wednesday. Models are starting to push this system a little further south and if that's the case, not everyone will see precipitation.
Thanksgiving itself should remain mostly dry as of now, but temperatures will suffer as we struggle to even get out of the upper 30s.
