FORECAST: Still breezy and chilly Saturday
Nov 22, 2024
Thankfully, this massive storm system will be over by Saturday. As it exits, we will only have to deal with breezy winds of 15-30 mph, which will gradually let up with each passing hour. Sunshine will break out in the afternoon, warming us back into the 50s. By Sunday, high pressure will be overhead and give us some of our best weather in days. Mostly sunny skies will prevail, with temperatures pushing toward 60 degrees.
This warmer and quieter trend will continue through Monday, but another round of active weather will set up before Thanksgiving. A cold front will arrive on Tuesday, bringing isolated rain showers and dropping temperatures. Highs on Wednesday will only be in the upper 40s to lower 50s while we catch a brief dry break. We're watching the holiday weekend closely as trends continue to favor a potent storm system sweeping through sometime from Thanksgiving to Black Friday. Exact details and impacts from this system will become apparent over the next few days, but as of right now, another round of cold rain and wind is likely, with the possibility of some wet snow, mainly across the mountains.
