FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A person has been arrested under suspicion of DUI following a crash that killed one person and hospitalized two teenagers in Fresno County Friday, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP says they responded to the area of Highway 180 and Grantland Avenue in Fresno County for a fatal traffic collision just before 6:20 p.m. on Friday. According to CHP, the Kia Optima was traveling eastbound on Highway 180 while at the same time, a pickup truck was traveling westbound on Highway 180. CHP says for unknown reasons, the pickup truck crossed over the center line and collided with the Kia. CHP says the driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased on the scene prior to their arrival. There were two 14-year-olds inside the vehicle were hospitalized with minor injuries. Officers add the driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was arrested under suspicion of DUI. Officials have not released the name of the victim. This is an ongoing investigation.
