Harrisburg, Washington advance to Class 'AA' final

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Harrisburg and Washington will meet for the Class 'AA' volleyball state championship for a second straight season after they each claimed semifinal wins Friday at the Premier Center.
The top-seeded Tigers moved one win away from a three-peat with a four-set win over O'Gorman. This was Harrisburg's 77th straight win. The two teams split the first two sets before the Tigers won the final two by identical 25-21 scores. Gabi Zachariasen posted 21 kills and 16 digs.
The Warriors swept Jefferson in straight sets. Kaelyn Snoozy and Cate Legel each tallied double-digit kills as Snoozy had 17 and Legel added 11.
This year marks the third trip to the final in the last four years for both programs. Harrisburg eyes its sixth championship, while Washington is gunning for its eighth title and first since 2001. The state title match is set for Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
