LSP: Man arrested after officerinvolved shooting in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man was arrested in connection to an officer-involved shooting in Baton Rouge, according to Louisiana State Police.
Casey Cagle Jr., 40, was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He's charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
According to LSP, in the early morning hours of Nov. 21, Baton Rouge Police Department officers were called to a home in the 3400 block of North Sherwood Forest Drive regarding a violent disturbance between roommates.
Upon their arrival, officers made contact with Cagle, who had a knife. State police stated, "despite receiving multiple commands to put down the knife, Cagle did not comply and charged toward the officers. As a result, one of the officers discharged his firearm, striking Cagle."

Cagle was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to LSP, he was later released from the hospital.
A Baton Rouge police officer was placed on administrative leave in connection with the shooting. This is an ongoing investigation.
