Man charged in connection to fatal Northeast DC shooting, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was arrested and charged in connection to a fatal Northeast D.C. shooting.
Police said that on Sept. 14 at about 5 a.m., they responded to the report of a man down in the 2200 block of Adams Place.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot. He died there.
The man was identified as 44-year-old Erik Mewborn of Northeast, D.C.
On Nov. 22, police arrested and charged 25-year-old Jeremiah Simms, of Capitol Heights, Md. with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
