WOODBRIDGE, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) is investigating a felony homicide that happened in Woodbridge.
PWCPD said on Nov. 22 that two people were arrested in an ongoing investigation surrounding "criminal neglect of a vulnerable adult."

On April 2, PWCPD said a call from the family's home at Bayvue Apartments, located in the 14100 block of Fisher Ave., alerted the department of the situation.
After investigating, PWCPD said the victim, 32-year-old Jeremy Thompson, was being treated at a medical center, suffering from extreme neglect.
Medical personnel had responded to the home where Jeremy Thompson, who has cerebral palsy and cannot move, was found unconscious on the floor. He appeared to be "severely emaciated and in an unkempt state with open wounds to his body," according to PWCPD.
Katharine Thompson, 69, the victim's mother, was identified as Jeremy Thompson's primary caretaker. She had been previously charged with felony neglect at the time of the initial investigation, PWCPD said.

On April 15, the man died and was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. It was revealed that he died due to "sepsis in the setting of cerebral palsy and neglect."
Jeremy Thompson's brother, 31-year-old Johnathan Thompson, also lived in the house with him and had helped care for him sometimes, which made him "a responsible party," PWCPD said.
Both Jeremy Thompson's brother and mom were arrested and charged with felony homicide and abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult.
