(KRON) – A Santa Clara University student was struck and killed by a car while walking near the school’s campus, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.  The crash occurred on Thursday morning on El Camino Real and Accolti Way near the Santa Clara University campus. Police responded at  11:58 a.m., locating a pedestrian on the ground with visible injuries.  Officers rendered aid to the pedestrian. Medical personnel took the victim to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.  San Jose boxing gym manager charged with sex assaults The victim was identified as an 18-year-old Santa Clara University student.  The person driving the vehicle responsible for striking the student remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to Santa Clara PD.  Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, according to authorities.  Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Traffic Investigator David Machado at (408) 615-4764.
