JESUP, Ga. (WSAV) – A death investigation is underway in Jesup. Friday morning, along with the U.S. Marshals Office, the Jesup Police Department attempted to apprehend a wanted felon at 154 Sycamore Street. During the operation, a gunshot was fired from within the residence, Jesup Police said. Agents quickly secured the scene and entered the home where, according to the department, a male was found dead. 6 agencies investigate after a photographer says he found remains in a burned Georgia funeral home Jesup Police added that the nature of the incident is under investigation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist. The police department urged anyone with information related to the case to contact law enforcement. This story is developing.
