Operation Clean Sweep: 12 fugitives arrested in Santa Fe County

SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – In a coordinated law enforcement effort, labeled "Operation Clean Sweep," 12 fugitives were arrested in Santa Fe County. According to the New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD), the operation included recovering illegal narcotics and getting a loaded handgun out of a wanted felon's possession.

The operation took place on November 20 and was successful thanks to the combined efforts of the NMCD's fugitive apprehension team, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office, the New Mexico State Police, the Santa Fe Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
“This operation exemplifies the strength of collaboration among law enforcement agencies,” said NMCD Cabinet Secretary Alisha Tafoya Lucero. “We are extremely proud of the officers for their unwavering determination in tracking down and arresting these individuals, who posed a significant threat to our community.”
