LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A former emergency dispatcher for the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) was charged with making multiple terroristic threats against county facilities and employees via Facebook posts, according to the Department of Justice. Jason Rivera, 53, of Las Cruces, appeared before a federal judge and will remain in custody pending a detention hearing, which has been set for Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024. Rivera also reportedly registered a website titled "killdonaanacounty.org" and tagged county officials in his threatening messages. If convicted of the current charges, Rivera faces up to 10 years in prison.
