Outofstate fugitive arrested in Lexington using license plate reader technology

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A fugitive from Alabama was arrested Thursday in Lexington, thanks to the efforts of the Lexington Police Department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center and Flock license plate readers.
According to a release, on Thursday the U.S. Marshals Service alerted local detectives that a wanted individual from Alabama, Kiarah Jones, 30, might be traveling to Lexington. Leveraging the city’s Real-Time Intelligence Center and Flock technology, officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle parked at the Comfort Inn on Buena Vista Road.
Jones was arrested on an out-of-state warrant and additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl) after the arrest. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
