KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Investigators in Merriam are working to figure out what led up to a deadly shooting followed by a crash on Friday morning that police say are related. Merriam police tell FOX4 its officers went to a shooting call in the area of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Eby Avenue, a busy area with Ikea to the north and and a number of restaurants and hotels to the south. Report: Travis Kelce’s stolen watch found in Providence Officers then responded to a crash about a half-mile north at Slater Street and Johnson Drive. Officers learned the crash was related to the incident where the shots were fired. The driver of a vehicle involved in the crash had gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where he later died. Police said officers and detectives have located all parties involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
