After the snowiest November day since 1997 and the coolest day since February, temperatures in the 40s today never felt so warm! It also made any accumulated snow quickly leave us. Check out the video below from our timelapse camera in Greenfield. Warming trend starts this weekend This weekend will continue our streak of winning weekends this Meteorological Fall. Since September 1, only two weekends had a touch of rain and they all contained above-average temperatures. Expect a seasonable start on Saturday because the clouds will keep a lid on things. The warming will begin Sunday with highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. It's Sunday which contains the biggest chance of clearing in the afternoon. Thanksgiving holiday week starts wet, cooler/active holiday on tap After a dry Sunday, clouds will increase late with rain arriving overnight. Most of Monday also comes with rain keeping temperatures mild. Highs Monday will be in the upper 50s to near 60°. The rain comes ahead of a cold front which drops temperatures ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Surge of Cold Air Returns High pressure builds in Tuesday with clearing skies likely. However, breezy northwest winds will keep things cool with highs in the low-to-mid 40s. Before Thanksgiving arrives Thursday, a surface low tracks east giving us more precip chances. Between late Wednesday and through the holiday, rain and even some snow showers are possible as we cool down. Forecast highs for Thanksgiving are in the lower 40s, many spots could be in the upper 30s. If this is verified, this will be the coldest Thanksgiving since 2019. We shift even colder Friday with flurries possible and highs only in the 30s.
