WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCIV) — Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and Republican presidential hopeful, criticized two of Donald Trump’s cabinet picks on her Wednesday SiriusXM radio show. Haley took direct exception to Tulsi Gabbard, selected as director of national intelligence, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was picked to be the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Haley described Gabbard as a “Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer” while also claiming Kennedy was dangerously liberal. “This is not a place for a Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer,” Haley continued of Gabbard, before explaining that the former Democratic congress member has no experience to “analyze real threats.” As for Kennedy, a former Democrat who ran as an independent candidate before dropping out and backing Trump, Haley’s critique was concise. “He’s a liberal Democrat, environmental attorney, trial lawyer who will now be overseeing 25% of our federal budget and has no background in healthcare,” she said. “Some of you may think RFK is cool, some of you may like that he questions what’s in our food and what’s in our vaccines, but we don’t know, when he is given reins to an agency, what decisions he’s going to make behind the scenes.” Aside from being the former governor, Haley was the UN ambassador in Trump’s first administration. During the 2024 election cycle, she ran second to Trump in the Republican primary, lambasting the former president as “unhinged.” However, ahead of the 2024 general election, she said she would vote for and endorse her Republican opponent. To Haley’s criticism of Trump’s cabinet selection, Donald Trump Jr. mocked her on social media. “If Nikki Haley really wants a cabinet filled with neocon warmongers to satisfy the billionaire donors that control her, she should try running for president and winning herself,” he said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Oh wait, I forgot she already tried that and lost in a landslide.”   If Nikki Haley really wants a cabinet filled with neocon warmongers to satisfy the billionaire donors that control her, she should try running for President and winning herself…Oh wait, I forgot she already tried that and lost in a landslide 🤣🤣🤣🤣 https://t.co/u0fxZwBfx8 — Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) November 21, 2024   Trump recently confirmed that Haley would not be given a role in his second administration when he returns to the White House in 2025. “I had no interest in being in his Cabinet. He knew that,” Haley said of the announcement. “I have made it clear to everyone that I was not interested in the administration.” Categories: News, Politics Tags: Former SC Governor Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, President Donald Trump
