(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — As the holiday shopping season approaches, those hoping to visit small businesses in Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, and Downtown Colorado Springs can take advantage of free parking days. Downtown Colorado Springs/Old Colorado City Parking meters in Downtown Colorado Springs and OCC will be free on select holiday shopping days, and as of Nov. 15, parking in city-owned garages is free on Sundays. Meters are free on the following days: Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 Black Friday, Nov. 29 Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 Christmas Day, Dec. 25 New Year's Day, Jan. 1 The city-owned Downtown garages are located at Nevada Avenue/Colorado Avenue, Nevada Avenue/Kiowa Avenue, and Cascade Avenue/Bijou Street. Manitou Springs The City of Manitou Springs is making holiday shopping easier with free two-hour parking from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily on the following dates: Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30 Dec. 14-25 The free parking hours apply to the Hiawatha Lot, Canon Lot, Wichita Lot, Smischny Lot, and on-street parking areas. Use the parking kiosks to select your two free hours.
