(COLORADO SPRINGS) —The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a 13-year-old for several vehicle thefts.
In September 2024, detectives began an investigation into a "known prolific" 13-year-old offender for several car thefts spanning from Jan. 2024 to March 2024. During that time, detectives were also able to link the suspect to more thefts, burglaries, and other crimes.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, police obtained a warrant for the 13-year-old for nine charges of motor vehicle theft, second-degree burglary where a stolen car was driven through a business and caused $7000 in damage, in addition to $5000 in vape products, three vehicle eluding's where the suspect ran from police in stolen cars, felony theft, and felony criminal mischief.
The next day, Nov. 21, the 13-year-old was arrested and booked into the Pueblo Youth Correctional facility.
