Christmas tree purchases at HolidayLights at CALM to support native wildlife
Nov 22, 2024
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- HolidayLights at CALM will begin selling Christmas trees beginning Monday with proceeds benefiting native wildlife.
Trees will be sold from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (with the exception of Dec. 1 and Christmas Day) -- with no admission to the museum required.
"Each Christmas tree sold at CALM directly supports the care and conservation of California’s native wildlife, aligning with CALM’s mission to make a difference for the animals they serve," Elizabeth Graff of CALM said in a news release.
Prices are based on tree height and variety, with Douglas firs going from $60 to $87, Noble firs from $35 to $175 and Nordmann firs from $35 to $110.

Teen Challenge volunteers will provide "sweet treats" Fridays through Sundays, according to the release, and will help carry and load trees.
Evening guests to HolidayLights will also be able to shop for a tree.
HolidayLights tickets can be purchased here or at the CALM gift shop. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for children ages 3-11 and free for children 2 and under. There's a 15% discount for CALM members, seniors and military.
