MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police in Montgomery County are investigating after a woman died in a crash in Gaithersburg Thursday night. The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 21, officers and medics responded to the 13300 block of Darnestown Road for a crash. Police aim to curb holiday crime rate with increased presence in Silver Spring Once at the scene, officers learned that a blue 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Darnestown Road when it crashed into a wooden utility pole. Police said a 41-year-old woman died at the scene from her injuries. Her name has not been released, as of Friday morning. MCPD's Crash Collision Reconstruction Unit is working to learn what led to the crash.
