Police: 1 adult, 1 juvenile injured after trainvehicle collision in Suffolk; charges pending

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Suffolk Police responded to a crash that involved a train and a vehicle on Bank Street Friday morning.
Just after 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Bank Street in reference to the crash, officials said.
Officers arrived to the scene and found a woman suffering from minor injuries, and a juvenile suffering from non life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was transferred to a local hospital and is expected to be OK.
Photos from the scene show heavy rear-end damage to the vehicle.

After an investigation, police determined that the driver of the vehicle crossed the railroad track while the crossing arms were in the process of coming down, where the backside of the vehicle was struck by the train.
Police said charges are pending for the driver of the vehicle.
The railroad crossing located at Bank Street and Moore Avenue was temporarily shut down as a result of the incident, but has since reopened.
