Man accused of killing pregnant woman in Wisconsin arrested months later in Texas

PLANO, TX. (WFRV) - A man who is the suspect in the killing of a pregnant woman back in September in southeast Wisconsin has been arrested in Texas roughly two and a half months after the shooting, authorities say.
According to the Kenosha Police Department, 25-year-old Lawrence G. Franklin Jr. was arrested on November 21 in Plano, Texas, by the United States Marshal Service’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Plano Police Department.

On September 9, officers with the Kenosha Police Department stated they were searching for Franklin for the homicide of 22-year-old Amiah Prather that happened three days prior on September 6.
Prather was a mother of three and was pregnant with her fourth child, a baby girl. Officers say that Franklin and Prather knew each other, however, the specifics of their relationship have not been disclosed.
The Kenosha Police appreciates all of the assistance provided by the US Marshal Service and the support provided by the Plano Police Department. This case, like many others, relied on hard work and a team approach. That team included many law enforcement officers from various departments, citizens, business owners, and many others.

Franklin will attend an extradition hearing in Texas before being transported back to Kenosha.
Court records show that Franklin is facing two Felony A charges of 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, one for Prather and the other for the unborn child.
