(COLORADO SPRINGS) — During the holidays, Senior Veterans Inc. honors veterans' graves with wreaths, and this year it needs the public's help to continue to tradition. Pikes Peak National Cemetary is one of the newest VA national cemeteries in the U.S. According to Senior Veterans Inc., ever since the cemetery was dedicated in 2018, there have been enough wreaths for all the graves. The cemetery serves as the final resting place for over 4,500 veterans. To do this, Senior Veterans Inc. accepts donations. Individuals can donate $17 remembrance wreaths for the gravestones. "Every $17 wreath is a tax-deductible gift from the people of Colorado Springs. For many Colorado Springs residents, this may be the first Christmas without one of the veterans in their lives," said CEO of Senior Veterans, Inc., David Bolser. "We have set up a secure site, ColoradoHonor.com to make it very easy for the public to make wreath donations." To donate, head to the website linked above. Wreath donations must be received no later than Tuesday, Dec. 3. Wreaths will be placed at Pikes Peak National Cemetery graves, located at 10545 Drennan Road, on Saturday, Dec. 14. The public is invited to attend.
