Dutchtown Middle gets highest school score in Louisiana. Did local schools make the grade?

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Dutchtown Middle School in Ascension Parish got the highest school performance score in the state, 99.9. It shares the honor with Tchefuncte Middle in St Tammany Parish. But how did other local schools perform?
The Louisiana Department of Education released performance scores for schools and districts on Wednesday, Nov. 20. According to a news release, the state’s school performance score has increased for the third year, and kids and teens have earned the highest scores under the current 150-point scale.
Across the state, about 20% of schools earned an A, 33% had a B, 30% drew a C, 13% got a D, and 5% earned an F.
Forty-seven of the approximately 230 schools in, near Baton Rouge earned an A. Sixty-six earned a B, and 66 had a C. Twenty-nine had a D, and 19 earned an F.

Schools across the state saw significant gains, though many still had overall low scores despite substantial improvement.
Young Audiences Charter High School in Jefferson Parish was the most improved in the state, pulling up a whopping 36.4 points to draw an F up to a B grade. Louisiana School for the Deaf also improved 27.4 points, pulling up from an F to a 54.3 D. McDonogh 35 Senior High School in Orleans Parish pulled a C up to an 87.4 B with a 27-point jump.
The biggest increase for a school in, near Baton Rouge was at BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City, which earned a 19.3-point increase and took its D to a 76.6 B. Helix Aviation Academy pulled up 13.2 points to 68.3, jumping from a D to a C. East Feliciana Middle School increased its score by 12.4 to 63.8, also climbing from a D to a C.
While the majority of schools in the area saw gains, about 90 showed no improvement in their scores or losses. The largest decreases in the capital region were at Freshwater Elementary School, which lost 9.6 points overall and fell from an A to an 82 B. At Progress Elementary School, scores fell 8.9 points to 62.1, and the school maintained a C grade. The Durfroq School lost 8.1 points, falling from a C to a D.
