AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Fall is in the air with daytime highs on Wednesday only reaching the 60s in most spots. Get ready...we're in for a cold night! TIME RUNNING OUT: Donate to our KXAN Friendsgiving Challenge today! Help support the Central Texas Food Bank There are seven days left in our annual Friendsgiving Challenge pitting the Morning crew against the Evening crew. This is all to raise money for the Central Texas Food Bank. We're behind where we need to be and would love your help to reach our goal of $150k by next Wednesday. A grateful THANK YOU to those of you who have generously given your dollars to our effort. Thursday brings our coldest morning of fall (so far) Clear skies and fading winds will come together to allow temperatures to drop quickly tonight. Low temperatures out the door early Thursday will be in the 30s across most of Central Texas with mostly urban areas holding onto 40s. This may be cold enough for some areas of frost in the Hill Country. A few localized areas may actually drop down to the freezing might, but the vast majority of us will stay above 32º tonight. Thursday morning lows Still, it's not a bad idea to protect your plants, especially if you live in an area that's typically colder than your surroundings. Our next warm-up Highs Thursday afternoon should rebound into the low 70s and a warming trend should continue through the weekend. High temperatures should peak on Monday in the mid 80s before our next cold front knocks us back down. BLOG: DARKEST EVENINGS OF 2024 ARE JUST DAYS AWAY Highs next few days The air may feel a little bit muggy as the 80s return, but most of the time we'll be warm and comfortable. Muggy meter through the weekend Our extended forecast remains dry through the day before Thanksgiving with only minimal rain chances just beyond our 7-day forecast.
