STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV)-After experiencing a total outage for their service area in Bulloch County, Excelsior EMC announced power could be back on in the latter half of the week. "We know many of you are anxious for a timeline on restoration," Excelsior EMC said in a post on Facebook. "Unfortunately, while we can't provide accurate estimates for individual areas." According to their outage map on Saturday night, over 20,000 of their customers are still without power. In their post, they suggested to prepare for outages to last until the latter half of the week. "Our crews are working day and night to restore power as quickly as possible, and many of you will see progress soon," the post continues. "However, for some, it will take more time." Restoration times updated, Georgia Power The City of Statesboro will be offering water filling stations at Public Utilities Operations at Hill Street and Mulberry Street from 3-6 p.m. Residents can bring containers to fill with drinking water at no charge. For those needing a shower, Splash in the Boro has opened up to offer showers to residents and hospital emergency workers on Sunday. Emergency and hospital workers are welcomed in from 8-10 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. The public is invited from 10-2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. For those who have lost food in the storm, Feed the Boro is holding an "enhanced food drop" on Oct. 4 at Statesboro High School. The City of Statesboro and Bulloch County will meet on Sunday to give updates. WSAV will be in attendance and will provide updates on what is discussed.
