CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The nonprofit Kellan's Legacy of Love hosted its Family Fun Day Fundraiser on Saturday, raising money to support kids with illnesses. The Family Fun Day Fundraiser was hosted by Kellan's Legacy of Love at Huguenot Road Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 28 and featured a multitude of activities for all ages -- including carnival games, raffle baskets, face painting, a dunk tank and more! The organization was founded in memory of Kellan Reynolds, who passed away from mitochondrial disease at nine years old, and aims to raise money for other kids suffering from illnesses as well as their families. Ruth Anne Walker -- a family member and volunteer -- spoke with 8News about how this event honors Kellan's memory. "My niece and the board wanted families to be able to just come together and have a good time, because like Kellan, when he was feeling good, he wanted to have fun," Walker said. "He wanted to be outside and he wanted to play, and so that's honoring him and his personality." For more information about Kellan's Legacy of Love and to learn how you can help, visit their website.
