Aiea hit-and-run leaves man, 71, in critical condition HI-EMA reported receiving multiple calls regarding the sirens and said that neither the City and County nor HI-EMA were responsible for the operation of military sirens. Officials also confirmed there was no emergency at the time. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the runaway sirens.
