NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Homes in New Castle and Ingalls were damaged by a storm that moved through central Indiana Friday night. According to a Facebook post from the New Castle Fire Department, crews were called to Holly Lane on a report of a structure collapse around 7:25 p.m. When first responders arrived on the scene, they determined residents had evacuated a home that had been struck by a fallen tree. About 25 miles west of New Castle, South Madison Fire Territory was called to perform a special rescue at a house in Ingalls. In a Facebook post, SMFT indicated the home's occupants and pets were evacuated and unharmed. As of this article's publication, no additional information on either of incidents had been made available.
