BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - A multi-agency safety sweep on Wednesday Sept. 25, led to the arrest of two faculty members at the St. Helena College and Career Academy. The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office executed the sweep with help from the Louisiana State Police, Tangiaphoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. SHPSO said the "two faculty members were arrested for items of contraband found in vehicles in a staff parking lot." They said that contraband was not found in any school building or on a student. Sheriff Clay Chutz posted this message on Facebook, "In today’s unfortunate times, with the tremendous amount of school violence, drugs, and weapons, I am extremely encouraged by this. Great Job St. Helena College and Career Academy."
