FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Community members can plunge into the world of water treatment at the City Utilities' WaterWorks FunFest on Saturday. Tours around the Water Pollution Control Plant educate visitors on how the facility manages 100 million gallons of water daily. Participants are guided through the plant's screening and pump room, through the control room and end their journey at the laboratory. In addition to the tour, the event includes hands-on experiments, games and prizes. Visitors may also interact with Science Central, watershed and environmental exhibitions. Food trucks plan to be at the plant. WaterWorks FunFest runs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Water Pollution Control Plant on 2601 Dwenger Avenue. Admission is free.
