Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — Just before 11pm  Thursday night Hurricane Helene officially made landfall in Florida wreaking havoc with heavy wind and dangerous flooding. While Floridians hunker down as Helene makes her presence known, we are now starting to see some of early impacts from the storm here in the Midlands. Not only have there been downed trees, but the heavy downpours have left some Richland County roads unaccessible, and closed due to flooding. The ABC Columbia Weather Team says we are just getting started as Helene inches closer to the Midlands.
